Amazon introduced three new Echo devices in its speaker portfolio, one of which was the Echo Spot. Now the same device has finally been launched in India at price tag of Rs 10,499. The MRP of the device is 12,999.
Available from Amazon’s own e-commerce platform, the Echo Spot can be purchased directly without any invitations like it was in the case of Amazon Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Dot speakers. The company is also giving OneAssist protection plan for two years if the customer pays Rs 799 extra. In addition to this, the Echo Spot adjustable stand is also available at Rs 1,999.
The Spot is one of the first speakers to feature a display. It has a 2.5-inch screen to show video content, time and even make video calls using the front-facing camera. Besides this, the Echo Spot can be connected to external speakers via Bluetooth.
There are some dedicated buttons to control the volume and if you want to turn off/on the mic and the camera. There are four microphones onboard as well.
The device is also said to have a second generation far-field voice recognition and can even control some other smart home devices via the company’s own digital assistant – Alexa. The assistant can let you call anybody from the contacts, play a particular TV show, add items to your list or wake you up while listening to Indian pop hit songs.
The launch of the Amazon Echo Spot speaker comes a few days after Google introduced it’s Google Home and Google Home Mini speakers in India. For now, Amazon has four speakers available in India – Echo Spot, Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Dot.
