Decliners in Continental Europe were led by Forward Pharma ( FWP ), a Danish biopharmaceutical company, 7.1% lower, followed by Orange ( ORAN ), a French telecommunication services company, down by 2.9% and Trivago ( TRVG ), an online hotel search platform operator, down by 2.0%. Materialise ( MTLS ), a Belgian provider of 3D printing software and services, was 1.8% lower.
In the UK, Motif Bio ( MTFB ), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, was 1.7% lower, followed by Unilever (UL), a Dutch consumer goods company, down by 1.3% and BT Group (BT), a communications services company, 1.2% lower. Vodafone (VOD), a mobile communications company, was 1.0% lower.
Gainers in Continental Europe were led by CGG (CGG), a manufacturer of geophysical equipment, up by 6.1%, followed by Sanofi (SNY), a French healthcare company, 2.2% higher and Criteo (CRTO), a French technology company, up by 1.7% and Deutsche Bank – Global Registered Shares (DB), 1.7% higher.
And, in the UK, Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), a development-stage biopharmaceutical company, was 99.3% higher, Avadel (AVDL), a specialty pharmaceutical company, was up by 3.8% and Amec Foster Wheeler (AMFW), a global engineering conglomerate, 2.8% higher. Barclays Bank (BCS) was up by 2.3%.
